Peru exported 18% more table grapes

According to AgrodataPeru, in the first quarter of this year, Peruvian table grape exports amounted to US $228,015,394, i.e. 18% more than the US $193,317,541 achieved in the first three months of 2016.

AgrodataPeru also stated that between January and March 2017, Peru exported 111,205,281 kilos of table grapes, i.e. 14% more than the 97,606,667 kilos it shipped in the same period of the previous year.

The main target market for Peruvian grapes in the first quarter of this year was the United States, which made purchases worth US $84,365,700, or 37% of the total.

It was followed by Hong Kong with 17% of the total, the Netherlands with 11%, China 9%, Thailand 5%, Indonesia 3%, Republic of Korea 2%, Russia 2%, Mexico 2%, Canada 1%, Colombia 1 %, the UK 1%, and other destinations with 9%.

The main Peruvian grape exporters in the first three months of the year were El Pedregal with US $ 22,801,540, i.e. 10% of the total shipped, Agro Victoria with 7%, Sociedad Agricola Rapel with 6%, and Exportadora Safco Peru with 6%.

Other companies were Agricola Don Ricardo with 4% of the total, Fundo Sacramento with 4%, Agricola Challapampa with 3%, RVR Agro with 3%, Agricultural Yaurilla 3%, Procesos Agroindustriales 3%, Agricola Andrea 3%, Complejo Agroidustrial Beta 2% Sociedad Agricola Drokasa 2%, Corporacion Agrolatina 2%, Sociedad Agricola Don Luis 2%, Agricola Chapi 2%, Ecosac Agricola 1%, Procesadora Laran 1%, and others 34%.

The 2016/2017 campaign was similar to the previous campaign
Peruvian table grape exports in the October 2016 to March 2017 campaign amounted to US $ 654,861,503; a similar amount than the US $651,706,894 achieved in the previous campaign (October 2015 / March 2016).

The volume exported in the campaign that just ended was also similar to the volume shipped in the previous campaign, as in (2016/2017) it amounted to 288,073,136 kilos while in the previous campaign it totaled 286,237,010 kilos.
