Leading ink (INX and SunChemical) and label (Henkel) producers supported Irplast in the choice of raw materials suitable for this kind of application, especially regarding food contact compliance.
The inks used to make the Food Contact Tape are formulated in accordance with the EuPIA Exclusion List (CEPE) and the label is made using exclusively raw materials included in the XIV BfR recommendation.
Food Contact Tape complies with standard 1416/2016/EC as its composition guarantees:
- the respect of strict health and hygiene regulations during the entire production cycle in compliance with the brc-iop standard;
- the use of barrier films suitable for direct contact with food, phthalate and free monomer-free;
- a global migration level below 10 mg/dm2;
- no set-offs.
Food Contact Tape can be applied with automatic taping machines.
Irplast Food Contact Tape complies with "Framework" Regulation (EC) no. 1935/2004 of the European Parliament and Council on food contact materials and Regulation (EC) no. 2023/2006 of the European Commission on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
Thanks to its composition and specifically-developed glue, Food Contact Tape guarantees that:
- the ink is enclosed by two layers of film for increased safety
- the adhesive mass complies with migration principles
- "not intentionally addictional substances" are checked
- it is mosh and moah free
