Sete Fruit terminal operated by Dunfresh

The French Port de Sète has signed an agreement with Dunfresh, and from now on, Luc van Holzaet will take care of all logistics operations linked to the fruit terminal. They will bring to Sète their expertise and reputation, offering their customers two fresh gateways to access the UE market: one in the north with their cold store in Dunkirk and, one in the south with the 23,000m² cold store in Sète,” says Arnaud Rieutort from Port de Sète.

“Dunfresh will take care of all the logistical arrangements for exporters and importers, including the quality controls, cross-docking processes and deliveries to final destinations”

Arnaud continues: "However, Dunfresh has to start from scratch and the business will come gradually by relying on cutting-edge facilities with excellent hinterland connections."

Dunfresh will arrange for the ships coming in, clearance and then transportation into France. They will also take care of all of the logistical operations for reefers, working with local stevedores and forwarders.

Port de Sète is located near Port Vendres and Perpignan, but Arnaud doesn’t foresee problems. “I think both ports will be complementary. Port de Sète offers large storage spaces, easy nautical access and a deepwater port, so larger vessels can come here, instead of having to sail to others EU ports. This way, everything will remain in the local economy. And this is also good for all us, because thanks to Dunfresh we will be able to diversify the origins all year long,” he concludes.
