"Nam Dok Mai mangoes cost around 9 Euro per kilo"

The Nam Dok Mai is a fibre-free mango variety with a sweet taste that is increasingly sought after in markets of northern Europe and Germany. "We have been selling Nam Dok Mai mangoes, which are grown in exotic countries, since the 90's," explains Martin Francis, manager at Francis Trading B.V. The company representative explains that "sales have been increasing in recent years, since these exotic products are becoming better-known." To this we must add that purchasing such products is becoming more accessible.

Nam Dok Mai mangoes usually cost around 9 Euro per kilo, and this price, unlike that of other varieties, remains stable. "It's usually a very competitive price, because there's plenty of volume available," explains Francis. However, sales depend on the weather and on whether there are other mango varieties available on the market at that time. "Approximately 3,000 kilos a week are sold on average," points out Francis.
