In the past few days, the previous depression on the Guangxi banana market has come to an end. At present, three of the four main banana production regions of China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and Yunnan) are all nearing the end of the harvesting period. Most of the regions are starting a second sprouting season. Yunnan bananas are now starting to go on sale and are about the enter the full-scale harvesting period.
Reports say that after the beginning of February, when temperatures rose, banana sales on the wholesale market also increased. Entrepreneurs are confident that the situation will recover and sales volumes at the cultivation bases will increase. During the Qingming festival (beginning of April), watermelon, grapes and other fruits haven't hit the market in full force yet. Also the supply of strawberries, loquat fruit and cantaloupe melons is overall not so large on the market at present. So every year in April and May, the demand on the banana market has a large void to fill.
