Malaga-based company aims for promotion of Spanish products

"We always visit the farms; we know the product first hand and make sure that it meets the requirements that our customers demand from us," states Pablo Teutsch, head of Avocitrus. This newly created Malaga-based company was founded following the requests for help that its founder received while working in the United Kingdom. While living there, many contacts of supermarket chains and other businesses told him that they needed someone of trust in Spain that could supply them the products that they needed.

Although they haven't been competing in the market for long, they are already able to offer a good range of products to their customers, including oranges and lemons, mangoes and cherimoya from the Axarquía area in Malaga; loquats from Motril, Granada, and stonefruit, including peaches and Paraguayo peaches, "which enjoy great success in the Netherlands," explains Teutsch.

The list of vegetables they work with includes tomatoes and peppers from Almeria, cauliflower, organic fennel, artichokes, aubergines or broccoli. "The truth is that, although we have only been operational for a short time, we are receiving plenty of requests from the UK, where I had my contacts, and from the Netherlands, where they have got to know us via social media," concludes Teutsch.
