Indian organic exporter is looking for international associates

An organic Indian import – export company based in Gujarat is trying to expand on the international market. Methan Farm is based in Delvada city with over 50 years of experience in agricultural trade.

"Germany and the Netherlands are markets we're especially interested in. We want to expand our client base and with this goal in mind, we're searching for foreign associates. Until now, we've managed to be completely self-reliant when it comes to our financial means. However, in order to expand we're now open to foreign investors," explains Vice President Umang Sorathiya.

Methan Farm is based around a community of local farmers, who together are able to grow large quantities of organic fruit. Tender coconut, Kesar mangoes and green papayas are the main products. The company has its own facilities for storage, processing, packing and logistics. Another major strong point for the company is the fact that it carries all certifications for guaranteed organic produce. "We're not shrewd businessmen, as we really only want a return of investments. We're also mainly concerned with brand identity and brand value. Once our brand is established globally, we'll see a return on investments."

Umang added that the current Indian sector for organic produce is getting more competitive. "We need to differentiate ourselves from other Indian companies. We do that by providing added value and competitive prices, aside from carrying all proper certifications. We also ensure our quality, by for instance, a strict management of logistics. We don't want our quality to deteriorate due to transit times. We're searching for business associates to help us with this."

A main company value for Methan FarmUmang comes down to transparency. "Transparency is the ladder to success in the organic sector. We provide our partners with clear information regarding are trade and cultivation practices. It's the reason why we've become as successful as we are now," concludes Umang.
