RPC Bebo Food Packaging has been active as producer of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) trays for years. Sales were taken care of by distributors at first, but in 2013 the company started doing its own sales. “Traditionally, our focus is more on the fish and meat industry, but our trays are also suitable for the fresh produce sector. For example, we have a customer in Germany who uses them to pack asparagus, and in Belgium and the Netherlands they are used to pack sliced fruit,” says Chantal van de Poll.
“We supply plastic trays, sealing film, tray sealing machines and absorption pads, and we service throughout Europe. Factually, everything can be packaged in the trays. They can be frozen to -50 ˚C and heated to 121 ˚C. They are solid, packed leakproof, and on top of that they present the product beautifully,” Chantal explains.
“We have more than 200 different sizes and designs, and the trays are made from environmentally friendly, recyclable plastic. Their big advantage is that the empty trays, compared to EPS and other materials, require little storage space. We see the necessary growth opportunities in the fresh produce sector in the Benelux, as we have proven ourselves in other countries by now. The trays are suitable for both catering and retail,” Chantal says.
