Amount of applied pesticides further decreased

The total amount of pesticides applied in agriculture and horticulture has decreased further, according to figures from the CBS.

It is difficult to see in which fields profit has been made from the figures, which are divided into applications. In 2015, more kilograms were used to combat moulds, bacteria, insects and mites on average. Moreover, the use of means to manage plant growth and inhibit sprouts has more than doubled. The decrease – the amount of applied means decreased by about 10 per cent between 2011 and 2015 – is mostly under the heading ‘other pesticides.’
