China: Mealybugs intercepted at Nanjing trading post

On the 13th of March, after tests had been carried out by the Office for Quarantine and Evaluation, the trading post in Nanjing (Jiangsu province) intercepted mealybugs (Dysmicoccu neobrevipes) and placed them in quarantine. 

On February 17th, while the Office for Inspection and Quarantine in Nanjing was inspecting the Panamian M/V SHUNWA that were imported from the Phillipines, they discovered small white insects on bananas in the food container. According to reports, the mealybugs were first intercepted in Nanjing, but were later also found in the trading posts in Wuxi (Jiangsu province) and Nantong (Jiangsu province).
