Euro Gijbels expands by 4,000 m2

Euro Gijbels is currently working on the construction of a new warehouse of 12 metres high. It will be a conditioned space of 1,000 square metre, and it will have four floors. “Because of increasing company activities, it became necessary to expand our accommodation. We decided this in 2016,” says John Gijbels. He is the fourth generation of Gijbels. “Euro Gijbels has grown in recent years, both with existing and new customers. Each year, it became more and more difficult to do ‘our thing’ in the current space. As for surface, we will go from 15,000 m2 to 19,000 m2.”

John indicates that Euro Gijbels will have more room in future to better automate processes thanks to this investment. “Furthermore, we will be better able to draw attention to our quality products, because there will be room for the expansion of our packing station. Here, we only pack the best of the best. We have noticed our customers wish for increasingly healthy and quality products. We anticipate that by expanding our packing station, because demand for our top range is increasing. Moreover, we also have better general sales. Our family company tries to remain as flexible as possible, and join in with the latest trends as soon as possible. We control everything ourselves, and have a small hierarchy: that is one point that often turns out to be an important advantage.”

Euro Gijbels is constantly working on internal processes. “Automation of processes is really important in our business. They decrease the error margin and speed up the rotation of products. Furthermore, we have also created a great order platform, with which our customers can easily work, as can we. We kept this in the back of our minds, and founded our own IT company. This organisation, with its four generations of experience, can implement wonderful innovations.”
