China: Virus found at Lianyungang port

Lianyungang port of Jiangsu province is an important port of entry and exit in China. In the last few years, dangerous pests have been intercepted here many times and Lianyungang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau personnel recently intercepted a virus from the United States in imported soybean, called "Bean pod mottle virus". In addition, the soybeans also carried other outlawed weed seeds, including ragweed, ambrosia trifida, amaranth, sorghum, etc. This is the first time this year that the Lianyungang Bureau have found the virus in imported soybeans. Currently, they are strengthening the quarantine supervision for the first batch of imported soybeans.
