Pear import season begins for Awe Sum Organics

Awe Sum Organics’ new crop of organic pears from the Rio Negro Valley of Argentina are now arriving on both coasts of the U.S.

The Rio Negro Valley is a premier fruit production area, well suited for growing pears. These juicy pears appear at a time when domestic organic pears are finishing, and organic fruit offerings in general are lean throughout the United States and Canada, the company states.

Awe Sum Organics claims it is able to provide their customers with a seamless Southern Hemisphere organic pear program (on both coasts of the U.S. and Canada), with all varieties and pack styles throughout the import pear season.

“Due to increased demand for organic pears in Europe, the U.S. will notice shorter supply and increased demand this season,” reports David Posner, CEO of Awe Sum Organics.

Abate Fetel, Autumn Bartlett, Boscs, Starkrimson, and Forelle varieties will arrive after the Bartletts and D’Anjous. The full Awe Sum Organics’organic pear line-up will be available through June.

Awe Sum Organics states that sustainability is at the core of the company. As well as being certified organic, Awe Sum Organics is fair trade and sustainably certified through IMO’s Fair for Life program guaranteeing social responsibility at all stages of production.
