China: First Peruvian blueberries land in Guangzhou

The Peruvian Consulate General in Guangzhou, together with a Peruvian business in Shanghai, hosted a ceremony to greet the first batch of Peruvian blueberries to reach China in the fruit area of Guangzhou, Jiangnan Fruit Market on February 23rd.

President Xi Jinping visited Peru in November last year. After several years of negotiatons, an export agreement was signed that granted Peruvian blueberries access to China. China's largest import markets, Guangzhou and Shanghai, are the product's early adopters.

The first shipment was sent to the port of Shanghai, and from there transferred to the Guangzhou import market.
