KIKU plans to extend ISAAQ apple production by 200ha

KIKU Variety Management presented ISAAQ in a wide range of packaging and prototypes, and the snack apple got a very positive response at the Fruit Logistica fair in Berlin. They believe that the variety confirmed the trend for small portions and the increasing importance of healthy nutrition.

The global ISAAQ meeting was an opportunity for partners from all over the world to exchange ideas about their vision for sustainability and snacks.

With around 40ha already dedicated to the variety in Europe and about 200 hectares planned for the coming years, particular importance is being placed on sustainability for both consumers and producers.

Jürgen Braun, CEO of KIKU Variety Management, had this to say about the variety: "ISAAQ is the perfect apple for various target groups and delights both adults and kids, with its balanced sugar-acidity ratio and its compact fruit size. ISAAQ is already available in the cashier area, giving the customers a healthy snack on the go.”
