Origine Group sells kiwis in Guangzhou and Shenzhen

"Considering the 20% drop in volumes, we expected a better start. Luckily, prices started to increase a couple of weeks ago," reports Alberto Garbuglia, CEO for Origine Group.

Show cooking with Sweeki in the Park&Shop chain

"We have reached 50% of destocking and demand has been rather good lately. Prices are increasing and will continue to do so because there is less and less produce available."

Sweeki sales

Quantities are similar to those of a couple of seasons ago but, back then, prices started off higher. Quality is very good, with a good level of dry matter content. Dry matter means a higher conversion of sugars, and therefore high Brix levels. Grades are more uniform than last year.

Promotion activity in Malaysia.

"At the end on the campaign, Origine Group will have commercialised 110 thousand tons of kiwis. We are reaching far away markets such as China, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. The Sweeki brand, which represents the best produce, is doing really well. The Park&Shop chain organised testing and show cooking events in both Guangzhou and Shenzhen. I must say the far east has turned out to be an excellent market."
