"It is like being in 95 supermarkets all at the same time"

A new application for the fruit industry was launched 3 weeks ago. Its main function is to provide information about fruit and its prices in 95 cities around the world. To make this possible, a network of trusted collaborators, who live in these specific places, will periodically send information to the headquarters of Retail Spotters, in Argentina. Once there, a team of editors will be in charge of entering the information and thus keep the application updated.

"They are trusted people who visit the supermarkets, check prices and take pictures. It is a closed network to ensure that the information offered is true, without bias or influence," explains Martín Casanova, CEO of Retail Spotters.

The application can be downloaded on mobile devices at no cost and is mainly targeted at people in the fruit sector, especially importers and exporters. "The idea came as an innovative step to help make market decisions. I believe that 100% of the exporters, when they travel to another country, visit supermarkets to check stock and prices," says Casanova.

The only requirement to be able to install this application is to have the device's software updated. Retail Spotters can also provide updated reports for certain cities. At the moment, they do a couple of updates per month, although the goal is to be able to do at least four.
