Fruitimprese: latest data on foreign trade

According to Fruitimprese data regarding the first eleven months of 2016, Italian exports reached €4.3 billion (+4.3% compared to the previous year). The value of imports dropped by 2.4% at €3.4 billion. 

The balance is €878 million, 42.6% more than November 2015.

During the first eleven months of 2016, Italian businesses exported 3.87 million tons, a 5.9% increase.

There was an increase in the export flow of all segments - vegetables (+16.4%), citrus fruit (+16.2%), fresh fruit (+1.9%) and dried fruit (+12.1%). The value was also positive for all segments - citrus fruit (+26.5%) were followed by dried fruit (+7.5%), vegetables (+7%) and fresh fruit (+0.8%).

As regards imports, Italy bought little less than 3.5 million tons, 3.9% less than 2015.

There was an increase in the volumes of dried fruit (+17.3%) and tropical fruit (+5.2%) and a decrease in vegetable (-5.7%), citrus fruit (-25.1%) and fresh fruit (-3.2%) volumes. As regards value, the sign was positive only for tropical fruit.
