AGRO Merchants implements new WMS in Rotterdam

AGRO Merchants Group is one of the largest logistic service providers globally in the cooling and freezing sector. AGRO owns and exploits 57 branches in nine countries in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia, and has more than 750,000 m2 refrigerated storage.

Boltrics recently reported that AGRO’s branches in Ireland and the UK will switch to the Warehouse Management System (WMS) Nekovri Dynamics. That same solution is now also being implemented in AGRO’s branch in Rotterdam – Opticool.

Opticool, located in the heart of the Port of Rotterdam, grew into a leading company in the field of storage and transferring of fresh (overseas) fruit in recent years. Since 2014, the cold store has been part of AGRO Merchants. As part of AGRO, it is necessary for Opticool to keep up with growth and to keep meeting increasing demand from customers. In order to keep supporting the transformation of the warehouse activities and the integration of their company, AGRO has chosen the cloud solution of Nekovri Dynamics.

Alex Barnard, IT Manager for AGRO Merchants: “Opticool’s current stand-online software solution is mostly customised. This means it is difficult to migrate this environment to a new version. However, we wished to continue to meet customer demand, and to further integrate the solutions within our group, which is why the decision to choose Nekovri Dynamics as a communal WMS was a logical step for us.”

Opticool will use RF scanning to support the use of mobile scanners, Value Added Logistics (VAL) for repacking activities and Customs Declaration for digital transit NCTS declarations. The wish to also connect Forwarding, Cross-Docking and other Customs reporting exist for a later stage.
