Chinese imports stabilise after New Year

The end of the Chinese Spring Festival marks the end of the export season of Chilean and Australian cherries. Most of the cherries are off the market, making space to a range of other import products.

Affected by the high prices of import cherries, prices of imported produce were pushed up and sales are going fast. American gala apples are selling at 400 yuan per box (55 euros). Envy apples are sold at 490 yuan for a big box and 390 yuan for a smaller box. Zespri kiwifruit is also popular, with the brands golden kiwifruit being sold at 240 yuan (33 euros) per box and the green kiwifruit at 110 yuan per box. In addition, small and bigger boxes of imported blueberries are traded at 130 and 145 yuan respectively. Avocadoes are also available, going around for 200 yuan (28 euros) per box.







Price of Thai durian has considerably come down to 650 yuan. Vietnam pitaya prices have remained stable at 170 yuan for the red varieties and 180 yuan for the white varieties. Grape prices, by increasing supply, are returning back to normal. South African seedless black grapes are traded at 160 yuan per box, red ones at 120 yuan per box and green varieties at 75 yuan per box. In addition, Peruvian grapes are sold at 120 yuan per box.
