'Lane Late' oranges from Spain exported to China

As the export manager of the Spanish company, Agri-Naturelle Producers, Tomais Amer has just arranged the first batch of their navel orange export to China. These oranges are grown near the Seguar river close to the Spanish east coast region of Murcia, which has been the central area for orange plantation for over a century.

"As opposed to other Spanish exporters who started their export season earlier, our company decided to export our orange variety 'Lane Late' at a later stage, so that we can guarantee the quality of the product during the transportation. For us, it is of great importance to be a reliable supplier for our clients. And the only way to guarantee the quality of our products is by starting the export season at the right time," explained Sr. Amer.

“The quality is our key focus, and our products are targeted at retail clients. By promoting our new brand The Mayor, we can put the key focus on our products."

Agri-Naturelle Producers is the first Spanish company to export oranges to China after the new agreement between China and Spain. It is expected that they will export around 100 containers to China during this season.

EU Quality Control
”We've spent a lot of effort on the quality control. From the product of origin to the end customers, we can take effective management for our products. Thanks to hundreds of years of experience, Spanish oranges are renowned for top quality. As an EU member, we follow strictly the EU regulations and all the regulations that are issued by the Spanish Department of Agriculture for food safety and quality.“

”We understand very well Chinese standards for quality and safety, and we are trying our best to offer our products with added value. For us, China is a very exciting market with great potential."

For Agri-Naturelle Producers, its export season is expected to finish by this July. Besides its late ripe variety, Lane Late, it will export its 2 other varieties, Powell and Valencia, to China. These are all juicy orange varieties with high sugar levels.
