Cornelissen Fresh Food and Coolbergen
Three radish farms merge into Ortolanda
Dutch radish farms, Cornelissen Fresh Food and Coolbergen, will work more intensely with the Italian radish farm, Ortolanda, as of 1 May 2017. This will happen under the Ortolanda name. At the Fruit Logistica in Berlin, the company will gave a taste of the new look, both figuratively and literally, which will be implemented from 1 May.
Cornelissen and Coolbergen founded the radish farm Ortolanda in Borgo Grappa, Italy, in 2000. Through the years, the company grew to 60 hectares of radish cultivation in Italy. In the Netherlands, Cornelissen has nine hectares, and Coolbergen grew to ten hectares last year.
With the various types of wild radishes, loose radishes, packing, sorts and techniques, Ortolanda will be the largest year-round producer of radishes. “A company with Dutch roots that stands by a sustainable cultivation and relationship, ensuring a flexible supply from wholesaler to retail throughout the world,” according to the company. “And always with the highest quality.”
The current sales channels will be maintained: The Italian department will do their own sales, those in Melderslo will be done by ZON, and the radish from Oude-Tonge will be marketed through The Greenery.
Preview of new house style
The new house style will be implemented mid-spring for the three radish farms, which consists of, among other things, the new name Ortolanda and the pay-off ‘The Radish Company.’ A preview is already available at the new website, www.ortolanda.com.
The radish cultivators will be at the Italian platform ‘Italia Ortofrutta’ as Ortolanda, in hall 2.2/A-07 at the Fruit Logistica, where customers can become familiar with the new logo and slogan. “But it is just as important that we continue to be that same reliable radish specialist from the Netherlands and Italy,” they say. “That is why our products will also get a prominent place in the stand, and the Ortolanda radish is offered to visitors as a culinary treat.”
