Primland® celebrates Chinese New Year in Taiwan

To mark Chinese New Year (28 January 2017), the retail stores Wellcome and Jasons are offering an elegant shopping bag created specially for this occasion to 6,000 customers who purchase an entire tray of Oscar® kiwis. Its design incorporates elements of the Oscar brand and its signature “Be Kiwi Be happy”, as well as an image of a rooster (in the Chinese calendar, 2017 is the year of the rooster).

Oscar® and Taiwan

Primland has historic ties with this country. In 1992, Oscar® became the first European kiwi to be exported to Taiwan. The Asian market is subject to particularly strict specifications from a health perspective. The approval procedures are the result of several years' worth of work and verify the knowledge and skills of producers and packing stations.

Promotional initiatives are regularly organised in Taiwan with distributors, press and bloggers (during cooking shows). Primland is pursuing its marketing strategy, this time offering its clients the option to support their sales in stores by directly incentivising consumers.

“We could have offered a standard initiative with a bag that could be used for other occasions. However, we have created a design and product specially for Chinese New Year. This approach reflects our desire to support our clients with “made-to-measure” service. This promotional initiative will be broadcast on our Taiwan Facebook page (Oscar® Kiwi Taiwan) launched in 2017, as well as on the pages of our clients (Wellcome and Jasons). This work has been completed in close cooperation with the client and our marketing department,” said Jean Baptiste Pinel, CEO of Primland.
