Israel: Agrexco opens new pepper packing terminal

Agrexco has opened a new 2,400 sq.m pepper packing terminal in its Arava region. The facility is designed to ensure super fresh peppers with the longest possible shelf life for European supermarkets. Regional growers pack the peppers themselves, bringing the produce to this new terminal equipped with state-of-the-art refrigeration services capable of bringing produce to a temperature of 7-80C within a relatively short time. In addition, it keeps the refrigeration chain constant until the produce reaches its destination market directly from the terminal. As the Arava region is home to 70-80% of Israelís total pepper output and the terminal oversees direct deliveries, in between connections to the productís final destination will be drastically reduced, thereby significantly improving the quality of the refrigeration chain.
