"Spain: "Sales are up 15% thanks to this packaging"

The key is differentiation, giving the product the importance it deserves. Agromolinillo, with its brand Delicias Rojas-Strawberry Bites, aims to make Fortuna strawberries one of its flagship products. To achieve this, they have made a firm commitment to a brand new packaging format in Spain, although it's a little better known elsewhere in Europe. It is a small cardboard basket that contains half a kilo of this really demanding fruit.

The idea, according to Carlos Carvalho, "came from a trip we made to the Netherlands, where we saw small markets and how growers were selling the strawberries in small baskets with great success."

 

According to Carvalho, "sales are up 15% thanks to this design." It is a premium format, which contains top quality strawberries harvested by hand and individually selected, one by one.
