Publity AG achieves full letting at the wholesale market in Leipzig

The asset management of Publity AG has generated another major leasing success at the Leipzig wholesale market. New rental contracts for areas of approx 2,500 m² were signed and additional contracts for an area of 1,000 m² could be extended. Thus, the fresh market in Leipzig, with a total area of 17,500 m² and a total of 81 market stands, is completely let out.

At the end of 2013, Publity took over the asset management for the Leipzig wholesale market and was again able to prove its successful "manage-to-core" strategy with full letting.

The market hall, including the adjoining buildings of the Leipzig wholesale market, was acquired in 2014. The market was established in 1995 on an area of more than 68,000 m² and is the most important fresh goods and logistics centre in the region. From the Leipzig/Halle airport, the entire region is supplied with fresh fruit and vegetables.

"In line with our manage-to-core approach, we were able to increase the average remaining term of leases at the fresh produce market in Leipzig. We have thus also achieved an increase in the value of the property and are hoping to realise this soon through a sale" said Thomas Olek, CEO of Publity AG.
