Push for flow-wrapped apples without cardboard trays
Flow wrapping is a horizontal-motion process in which products of any shape can be wrapped in a clear or printed polypropylene film. The end result is a flexible package with a non-lap type seal on the bottom and crimped end seals.
There is a main component for their packing machines, which is available in two sizes BS and MS.
"It's like a car, and customers can make their own variants. We focus on one machine for different options. Our Horizontal tube bag packing machines originate from a single module system. This means that we can provide machines that adapt to our customers product and budget." shared Nadine Barsch. The modular machine structure means that it is possible to make uncomplicated adjustments as needed.
The flow packers are also designed so that dirt can fall directly onto the floor. The housing of the machine is open for ease of use, making it easily accessible for cleaning and ideal for the food industry.
"After a push from major supermarkets, we are currently busy finding a solution for packing apples without the cardboard trays. Apples are normally packed in a punnet, but it is a new trend to wrap loose apples in quantities of 4 or 6."
