G. Sevenhuijsen VOF receives predicate Royal Warrant during centenary celebration

In 1916, Pieter Sevenhuijsen founded the international trade company G. Sevenhuijsen VOF, and named it after his son Gerrit. During the first years, its main activities were in cabbage but over time the company has developed into a specialist in overseas export of consumption and seed potatoes, onions, garlic, white and red cabbage and various other vegetables.

On Saturday 14 January, the export company celebrated its centenary with about 200 relations. As icing on the cake, G. Sevenhuijsen VOF was also issued a Royal Warrant by mayor Van Kampen of municipality Schagen, a Royal honour for small and mid-sized companies that are at least 100 years old and have a very good reputation in the region.

“A crowning glory,” Teun Paarlberg looks back.

"Receiving this predicate is certainly no formality, because we were completely investigated. Furthermore, it is the achievement of the entire team. We may have been the ones to receive the plaque, but we did it together! We will naturally have this predicate featured in all of our brandings, because we are very proud of it.”

The exporter looks back on a wonderful celebration. “We kept it nice and normal. We consciously decided not to have any musicians, and everyone appreciated that. It was extremely enjoyable, and we did not just receive many warm responses on the evening itself, but we are still receiving them today!”
