Ecuador's mango can enter the UAE with a certificate

The Ecuadorian Agency for Agricultural Quality Assurance (Agrocalidad) received a communication from the UAE authorities in which they expressed that Ecuadorian exporters only needed a phytosanitary certificate to export fresh mango to their country.

On October 2016, the PIVANO SA company made a request to Agrocalidad to start mango exports to the United Arab Emirates.

On January 9 this year, the General Coordination of Plant Protection of the Ecuadorian Agency for Agricultural Quality Assurance received an official document from the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment indicating that there was no restriction on fresh mango imports and that exporters only required a phytosanitary certificate.

This opens a new market in Asian territory for Ecuadorian products, and allows the country to diversify its export destinations.
