Food bank receives bananas with cocaine

The food bank in Huizen, the Netherlands, recently received a batch of bananas that had one kilogram of cocaine hidden in the shipment. On Tuesday 6 December 2016, a shipment of cocaine, with a street value of approximately 55 million euro, was intercepted. The bananas were sent on to the dispatch address in Medemblik, where the police managed to arrest eight people who were going to unload the shipment. The boxes were distributed among various food banks in North Holland through, among other things, a promotion by a regional channel. The department in Huizen found the drugs in one of the boxes.
