Levarht and Beijing HongFu International Agriculture Co.

HongFu International Agriculture Co.'s grower, Geert Leffers, says that their financial partners and Levarht have wanted to grow quality tomatoes in China for a long time. By establishing Dutch style glasshouses, using Dutch technology and selecting various varieties, they believe they have met this goal.

The first plants have been delivered to their glasshouse and they have started planning. In the coming days they plan to have 180.000 plants in place. But they believe the work will be rewarding. And nature can take its course in growing these tomatoes. Early February they expect to harvest their first cherry tomatoes, beef tomatoes and vine tomatoes.

Mr. Leffers said: “This is really a great day for all our colleagues and partners, who invested so much time and energy into this first project. We can all be very proud of what we have achieved”. And, according to Managing Director Li Zhaoyang, this is just the beginning of an ambitious plan, “as today is an important day for us, it is also an important step towards further growth”.

Beijing HongFu International Agriculture Co. and Levarht hope that together they can “Set New Standards”. Especially for China, where they plan new standards in growing, in biological crop protection, in food safety and in the selection of better varieties.
