Mecklenburg-West Pomerania's largest Brussels sprouts producer will be plucking the healthy vegetable fresh from the field until January

2016: Brussels sprouts crop booming

According to farmer Jan Hofman, the warm autumn has benefited the sprouts, whose growth had been hindered during the dry summer.

These little vegetables, which contain twice as much vitamin C as oranges, weighed 20 to 40 grams this year, which is slightly less than last year, however they were nice and crunchy and ripened in larger quantities.

The yield per hectare, according to Hofman, will come to 18 metric tonnes this season. The average, based on previous years, is 25 metric tonnes per hectare.
