Good start for Berkane-Clementines

Wilkofruit has packaged the first real Gaudias Berkane clementines during the past week, and today the first three trucks will arrive. “We do not leave anything to doubt, so we have a partnership with someone on the spot in Berkane. We have the right fields at our disposal, with large calibres, a high sugar content (13-14 brix), and more juice. We never start too soon with a product, only when they are natural, then we start in Gaudias,” says Wilko van der Zwaard.

The packages are now 10 kilos and 2.3 kilos, and the double-layered 12-kilo euro cardboard from the end of next week. “It is very important that follow-up sales of the consumers come about. Four weeks ago, the season seemed to cause very small calibres, but the rainfall of the past two, three weeks, resulted in larger sizes and an optimal juice content,” says Wilko.

Wilkofruit let the first batch come by car, while at the same time a container was loaded. “The supply of the real Berkane clementines will be guaranteed until the third week of January, then we will continue with the Nour clementine, followed by the Nadorcott. We can do the packaging here on the spot, the smaller packaging for the supermarkets in Holland. We are optimistic about this year and we are going to make this a beautiful season, together with our clients. There is something for everyone in this product,” Wilko concludes.
