The event was organised in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Chinese growers, retailers and suppliers from across the country travelled down to Shanghai to showcase newly harvested fruits and industry supplies. The show provided an array of popular Chinese fruit and veg, including fresh apple and pear varieties, large amounts of kiwifruit, citrus, melons, and tropical produce from the South of China, such as mangoes, papaya and wax apples.

Reemoon is a Chinese developer and manufacturer of sorting technology. The company has a strong foothold in China and is now eyeing the European and South American market.

From the supply side, all major sorting equipment and packing solution providers were present, some of them with sorting and packing machines installed to show the audience. Packaging producers were also well represented. China is a forerunner regarding branded and gift box packaging options. Most exquisite boxes were on display.

A delegation of Egyptian citrus, grape and pomegranate producers exhibited at the exhibition. Egypt received official market access to China for its table grapes earlier this year, and the last official documents are expected to be signed later this month in Egypt. In addition, some Italian, Kenyan, Spanish and Dutch companies were present. Overall numbers of international exhibitors and visitors were limited.
During the exhibition, a number of events were staged that celebrated local and domestic industry players, including introductions of Shaanxi fruit growers and Luochuan apples producers, and award ceremonies that celebrated domestic fruit growers and marketing companies. The Australian stone fruit association welcomed a visit of the Australian Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister to welcome the first Australian nectarines shipped to China.
