Highest point new building Fresh-Care Convenience

On Thursday, 10 November, there was a celebration when the highest point of the new high tech production site for Fresh-Care Convenience was reached. At the industrial park Poort van Dronten, under the watchful eye of all the professionals involved in this project, the Dutch flag was raised. Heembouw is realising the new building for Fresh-Care Convenience, after a design by Habeon Architects.

Fresh-Care Convenience, part of the Staay Food Group, is specialised in processing fresh fruit and vegetables and natural ingredients into ready-made units. By building the new convenience factory, the increasing stream of orders, from Germany in particular, can be faced. The production site contains high and low care spaces, almost 21,000 m2 in total, with a floor of 3,800 m2, 900 m2 installation space, 1,300 m2 of office space and 189 m2 shipping office, with an integrated logistics centre.

City Farm
The hall in which the fresh vegetables are sliced and packaged is completely cooled, and has been divided into several high care spaces. The new production site meets the strictest regulations concerning bacteriological requirements and food safety. A special part of the new production site of Fresh-Care Convenience is the City Farm, a conditioned space where lettuce is grown fully automatic on nutrient-rich water, under special LED lighting.

Heembouw will deliver the new production site on 1 June, 2017.
