Prices and comercialization margins of Mexican lemons

Last October, in the monitoring of prices (paid to producers) for the Mexican lemon (sour) of the Colima and Michoacan citrus regions, and prices (of wholesale and consumer) in three selected cities. (Mexico, Guadalajara, Jalisco, and Monterrey, NL), the following quotes were recorded:

Prices paid to producers ($/kg) 
During the month of October (2016), the highest price paid to sour lemon producers in the citrus region of Tecoman, Col., reached $3.43 /kg, and the lowest price was $ 3.19 /kg. In the citrus region of Apatzingan, Mich., the highest price was $3.50/kg and the lowest price, $3.11/kg.(Source: CONASIPROLIM). 

Wholesale prices ($/kg)
The highest retail price wholesale observed in the Mercado de Abasto of Guadalajara, Jal .: $ 13.78 / kg. The lowest price was recorded in the Central de Abasto in Iztapalapa CDMX .: $8.28/kg. (Source: SNIIM). 

Retail prices for consumers ($/kg) 
The highest retail price was recorded in traditional and self-service stores located in the city of Monterrey, N.L.: $15.51/kg. The lowest selling price to consumers was identified in the city of Guadalajara, Jal : $14.46/kg.(Source: INEGI). 

Marketing margins (%) 
The highest marketing margin was located in the city of Guadalajara, Jal .: 316%. The lowest was recorded in the CDMX (Mexico City), MC: 150%. 

The highest margin of marketing made a difference in pesos of $ 12.20/kg, observed between the price paid to the producer of lemon in the citrus region of Tecoman, Col .: $ 3.31/kg, and the price of more high consumer sales was recorded in Monterrey, N.L.: $ 15.51/kg.

The lowest marketing margin recorded a difference in absolute numbers of $11.15/kg, observed between the price paid to a lemon producer in Tecoman, Col.: $3.31/kg and the selling price to the consumer in Guadalajara, Jal.: $14.46/kg.
