Photo report: Study trip of Fresh Park Venlo Business club to Spain

On November 3 2016 the Fresh Park Venlo Business club travelled to Spain, where a visit was made to Savasun S. A., a sister company of Staay Food Group, and to Barcelona, where we visited the wholesale market Mercabana.

It is impressive to see and hear how passionate Ad van der Staay is about the cultivation of spinach, spring onions and cauliflower. The combination of Dutch skill, entrepreneurialism and commitment over the last 30 years and the sunny Spanish climate has been the basis of the current success, now and in the future."

"Friday November 4, we left by bus to Barcelona and the Fresh Park Venlo Business club visited the wholesale market Mercabana. Here we were received by Tomas Quesada i Bautista, director of the wholesale market, who gave us a more in depth explanation of the size and method of working in the market.

There was a huge variety of products to be found in the over 400 stands. Both the presentation and the tour round the wholesale market were fantastic. After the morning/afternoon programme there was a short visit to the Ramblas. It was a fantastic experience and a source of inspiration in very pleasant company. Then the group returned home safely."
