Heyang Biological: Better fertiliser - better orchards and better sales.

Double the sales
"Grapes are already sold out for this year, we sold 220,000 grapes from our family orchard of 0.8 hectares. Last year we sold 110,000 grapes, so we doubled it," says Mr. Yu from the Grape Cultivation Shop in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.

Mr. Yu comes from Jiaxing in Zhejiang. He is a very typical Chinese grape farmer. Husband, wife and children manage the cultivation of the family orchard together. They supervise the orchard and manage the harvest and sales on a daily basis. It is very close to China's largest fruit trade market, Jiaxing Fruit Wholesale Market. "That is both good and bad. The good thing is that a lot of fruit transactions are done at the market centre. There are client requests ranging from low to high-end markets, so you can always sell your fruit. But the competition is very fierce. The same grape may give a very large price difference. As we compared the sales of last year and this year, we gradually discovered that only products of good quality protect against the risks of the market. Good products also sell very quickly."

"We mainly cultivate two varieties: red grape and Manicure Finger. In the Jiaxing district, red grapes are cultivated over a rather large surface, but this year, we could sell our grapes at about 8 RMB per kg. The selling price of other orchards was only 6 RMB. Manicure Finger is a grape variety that is relatively hard to cultivate, so the cultivation surface for it is rather small. Even smaller is the amount of farmers that can cultivate tasty Manicure Finger grapes. This year, both the aroma and sweetness of our Manicure Finger grapes were the best. At the wholesale market, they sold for 24 RMB to 26 RMB per kg. We absolutely couldn't have imagined that a year ago."

Fruit bearing volume doubled

"Last year, for an unknown reason, our grapes had bruised peels, they burst and became rotten on the trees. Not long after we cut away the rotten fruits, the fruits started bursting again. We started to give medication to the trees once a week, after that we gave medicine every two to three days, but the problem wouldn't stop. I went to ask for help at the rural capital agency where I ran into a lecture by Heyang Biological. After I had asked for information from the lecturer, I tried his solution in a state of desperation on a few acres of land. From the moment the plants started blossoming, they already looked different. On the soil where I used Heyang Biological's micro-organic fertiliser, the leafs of the trees were greener, sturdier and shinier. After seeing the difference, we used the leftovers from the fertiliser on the rest of the soil. When the fruit bearing period came, we discovered that every tree bore at least 6 to 7 bunches of grapes; some trees even had 13 to 14 bunches. You have to know that last year, the best trees only had 7 bunches of grapes."

Doubled quality of service

"Actually, what made the deepest impression was that Heyang Biological didn't only provide micro-organic fertiliser for us, but they also gave guidance on how to apply it. They helped in the orchard management and even assisted in sales. After applying the fertiliser, the farming assistance people from Heyang Biological, personally came to our orchard to inspect the soil and the actual conditions of the crops. After that, they told us how we had to apply the fertiliser. It was planned that after the use of the fertiliser, people would come buy to guide us in the management of the orchard. After the harvest this year, Mr. Bai, the CEO of Heyang Biological also introduced our Manicure Finger grapes to a friend in online sales. He sold a good amount of our grapes for the good price of 98 RMB for 3 kg. Looking back, the fertiliser of Heyang Biological may have been more expensive than other brands, but that price also included services and assistance in sales that were immensely helpful. That is why we believe that their fertiliser is very reliable - our sales bear this out."

Soil quality determines fruit quality

Mr. Bai from Heyang Biological told it to us this way. "From our observations and results in the past few years, the problem with the quality of fruit in China is related, largely, to the quality of the soil. In these past years, in order to pursue high yields, farmers use fertiliser products excessively or in the wrong way. This deteriorates the quality of the soil and makes it hard, acidic, salty and loaded with excessive amounts of heavy metals. This influences the quality and the safety of the food products in a negative way. In comparison to other hybrid fertilisers or organic fertilisers, micro-organic fertiliser, not only contains fermented organic fertiliser, but it also contains a fixed amount of functional and active bacteria. It can improve the quality of the soil by adjusting the presence of micro-organisms. This increases the organic quality of the soil and recovers its biological nature. It increases the breathing surface of the rots of the plants and improves the resilience of the plants against diseases. That in turn improves the quality of the plant and helps to deliver food products of a better quality."

"About the help in the management of the orchard and sales, we believe that this is mutually beneficial for the farmers. Our assistance in the management of the orchard helps to maximise the effect of the micro-organic fertiliser. It also helps the farmers to get a high price for high-quality products. This benefits the farmers who strive to keep improving the quality of their fruit and it also helps to give consumers a better impression of Chinese fruits. What's not to like about it?"
