Typhoon Haima led to banana harvest failures

Typhoon Haima caused serious damage to the agricultural produce in Shanwei city. Rice and banana harvests were badly affected and certain aquaculture industries are even more severely impacted, with the growers facing a hard time to get their investment back. According to statistics from the Shanwei Disaster Prevention bureau, around 56,000 hectares of agriculture land has been impacted, leading to a direct economic loss of over 300 million Yuan. In terms of the aquaculture industry, over 3.688 million tons were impacted and the economic losses were 43,600.000 Yuan.
