Aubergines, cucumbers and courgettes are the products with the lowest prices, while tomatoes are the best paid, reaching 80 cents per kilo at auction in the case of tomatoes on the vine or pear. Peppers oscillate between 50 and 60 cents per kilo. "We expect prices to start rising next week, as soon as the number of orders from northern and central European countries start to increase," he explains.

According to the representative of the Almeria-based cooperative, in recent years, the start of Almeria's greenhouse vegetable campaign "has been complicated in terms of prices because we overlap with the production from the rest of Europe, taking into account that the harvest also kicks off earlier because of the heat. Perhaps, if not so much was planted during the first fifteen days of the campaign, we would prevent these problems."
