Mrs Li learnt how to grow pineapples at home from her wechat group: simply cut the leafy top off the pineapple and put it in a container, cover halfway with water, then set the whole thing on your windowsill for 3 days. When the root has grown to around 0.5cm, transfer to a flower pot, leave it in a sunny spot and water every 3-5 days. In 2 years you may have a new pineapple.
Mrs Li followed the instructions and after one week, the roots started to grow and, after a period of time, she repotted twice and now she looks forward to having 3 new pineapples in 2 years' time.
