'Mission Critical Project'

Frankort & Koning wins Outsystems Innovation Award

On Wednesday October 12 the winner of the Innovation Award 2016 was announced at the NBC congress centre, Nieuwegein.

A year ago Frankort & Koning chose to primarily support the logistical processes in a different way with IT resources, with the Rapid Application Development Platform of Outsystems. Whereas this is traditionally supported with ERP, sometimes with customisation, the IT department at Frankort & Koning developed an in-house application. In a relatively short time the developers, in close collaboration with the final users, managed to provide tools to better support processes and ensure that concrete steps could be made within the aspiration of Operational Excellence.

The judges were impressed by this approach and the vision. And in particular the fact that Frankort & Koning took the applications into full production in company critical processes so quickly. This, combined with the fact that Frankort & Koning looks very differently at the handling of data and information, inevitably lead to the conclusion that the innovation award, within the Mission Critical Project, should be awarded to them.

Other winners included Credit Agricole ("Fastest Delivered Project"), Eneco ("Best Skilled Company"), VOPAK ("Most Innovative Company") and RET ("Most Scalable Project"). Of course we can't win in all categories, but we will do our utmost to receive another such fantastic award next year, added the two developers, Dirk Bakker and Richard Aben.

The management of F&K describes receiving this award as follows: we are much more than (just) Fresh Professionals. We are very proud of our ICT department and all of our employees in general. Every day we work together to excel in what we do.
