They are also sustainable. First of all, the fact that they are extremely versatile in the kitchen means they do not go to waste, especially since they last a really long time. Secondly, their price is very accessible. To counter price volatility in agriculture, in 2015 Selenella® created the "Qualità e tutela del Valore" project, which has the objective of guaranteeing a high quality product to consumers and recognising a fair price to producers.

The environmental aspect is also important for Selenella®. By using integrated production techniques, the consortium limits the use of fertilisers, pesticides and chemical products, thus maintaining very low residue levels.
Water consumption is also kept low, thanks to low-consumption irrigation techniques, with high-efficiency systems and geolocalised weather forecasts.
The excellent performances in terms of pollution must also be stressed, as the quantity of greenhouse gases produced is limited, especially for CO2.
Last but not least, the employment of photovoltaic systems means around 1/3 of the energy necessary derives from renewable sources. This is also why the Consortium obtained the prestigious EPD - Environmental Product Declaration certification.

Recently, the range was widened to include the Mini and Montanara selections. In addition, Selenella® also produces crisps and gnocchi, thanks to a processing method that keeps all the characteristics of the Selenella® potatoes intact.
