Shandong ginger prices up 60%

According to data from the county price monitoring centre in Shandong province, the ginger price this week was 8 Yuan per kilo, a 60% increase on last week.

The increase was due to a limited supply in the lead up to the fresh ginger harvest season at the beginning of November. Meanwhile, this year's rainy season had a negative impact on the harvest and growers have been holding back stock, which helped push the ginger price increase to such a high level.
