In addition to Dutch trading company BioWorld and Spanish production company BioMontaña, Best Fresh Group also launched a German organic company in September: BioFrucht Niederrhein. Kai Gorissen represents the company in the German city of Cleves, in order to supply German retailers and wholesalers of organic fruit and vegetables. In the past, Gorissen worked for Nedalpac, where he set up organic lines to German supermarket chains. When he was approached by Best Fresh Group to set up a German branch independently, he eagerly accepted the challenge.
“German customers increasingly ask for organic products directly from the source. With the import packet and the Dutch production of BioWorld, the increasing Spanish supply from BioMontaña and the lines I will launch with German producers, we will be able to provide a year-round packet to our customers. It is a trend that retailers desire a larger volume from fewer suppliers. By having a wide range to fall back on, I can act as a single contact partner for German customers,” Gorissen says. Storage and transfer takes place at sister company Sous Fresh in Venlo, the Netherlands.
