Fair on March 23 and 24, 2017

Agritrade helps Guatemalan producers

Agritrade is a platform created by AGEXPORT (the Guatemalan Exporters Association) to promote agricultural exports, which also organizes and gives its name to Central America's agricultural sector's largest trade fair.

The platform is divided into two main areas:
• Market access: where the association aims to increase Guatemalan agricultural exports by participating in international fairs, positioning its highest quality products, and through business conferences, market research, and trade missions.

• Exportable offer: In which the goal is to increase the value of crops, through rural agricultural meetings (small fairs in the country where Agritrade helps thousands of producers show their products to exporting companies), and by promoting productive diversification, training producers and conducting workshops on good agricultural practices (GAP), good manufacturing practices (GMP), quality, plant health, and so on.

The Agritrade fair, which is the largest fair of its kind in Central America, is the culmination of all these activities to enhance the participation of Guatemala in foreign markets and diversify its offer. The next fair will be held on March 23 and 24, 2017 in Santo Domingo del Cerro, Antigua Guatemala.

Rural agricultural meetings
In addition to the biennial fair, Agritrade helps producers and exporters through its rural agricultural meetings where they have the opportunity to do business with each other. These meetings allow producers to expand their markets, contact potential customers directly, promote their products, get to know what the market requirements are, attend professional conferences, share their experiences with other producer organizations, and expand the diversity of suppliers, inputs, and services, among other benefits. In addition, the platform offers technical training and workshops to small producers in rural areas of Guatemala.
