French potato harvest starts again, pressure on supply

Harvesting conditions were dry again in the North last week, putting pressure on supply. Harvest could start again this week-end in some areas thanks to the recent rainfalls. The UNPT reported picking at 40 – 45 % on 28 September. Quality-related questions remain on the table. Exports are mainly to Spain, but there is also some interest from Italy and Portugal, at prices between 27 and 28 €/qt for 40 mm+ bags, washed.
