China: Baby mandarin output falls, exports to Indonesia blocked

"This year's Nanfeng baby mandarin output is expected to fall by around 30-40% compared to an estimated national average drop of around 20-30%." Said Mr. Hu Weiqiang, the general manager of Jiangxi Green Orchard Fruit Co.Ltd.

Baby mandarin export to Indonesia stopped

"Nanfeng's baby mandarin season begins at the end of October and lasts until the following Feburary. In recent years, its export volume has increased steadily and price fluctuations have stayed within a reasonable range. Despite significantly reduced availability, exporters are still failing to make sufficient profits due to a change in trade policy between China and Indonesia. After October 31st, Indonesia stopped its baby mandarin import from China. As a result, we expect that this year Nanfeng baby mandarin price will increase around 10% compared with last season."

New opportunities domestic market
"Thanks to the rapid development of the market in China, more and more business opportunities are opening up. It was only after significant market search that we decided to enter the domestic market with the Green Orchard Fresh Fruit brand. Now our fruits are available on wholesale markets in second tier and third tier cities. The domestic market accounts for around 30% of our overall business turnover."

Pampas brand
"We are actively engaged in export to Southeast Asia and Middle Eastern countries with our brand Pampas. With good quality products and a sound company reputation, we've rapidly developed a stable clientele. In the future we hope to further develop overseas markets in North America, especially Canada."

"Our company was founded in 2012 and is situated in Nanfeng county in Jiangxi province. We own a 67 hectares plantation. With our natural geographical advantages, we believe that we can offer top quality products to overseas markets and further develop our brand recognition abroad."
