China: Hebei exports fresh pears by train to Russia for the first time

This week, after fresh pears from Cangzhou returned to the Indonesian market earlier in August, the export of pears once again made a breakthrough: More than 20 tons of fresh pears are being transported to Russia by train.

Previously, the export of Cangzhou (Hebei province) pears to Russia was done by shipping and took approximately 40 days. The Lihong fruit corporation in Botou (Hebei province) is now trying railway transport for the very first time. The transportation time is instantly reduced to only 10 days, of which 8 days are required to get the pears from Botou to Manchuria, where the goods are declared to the customs, before crossing the border. The pears reach Saint Petersburg only a day later. The transportation mode greatly increases the corporation's efficiency. At this moment the fresh pears have already passed through customs.

Earlier in August, strict test procedures had shown Cangzhou pears to be of great quality. The pears now have not only returned to China's biggest export market for pears, but have also broken through in Russia. The trend of increasing pear exports delights people.
