EU adjusts flutriafol import limit for gourd vegetables

The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has reported that on September 23, it will issue a suggestion for revising the maximum amount of residual flutriafol in gourd vegetables. According to the regulation of the European Commission No 396/2005, chapter 6, Great Britain received the request from Cheminova A/S to revise the import limit of flutriafol for gourd vegetables transported from the US to Europe.

According to chapter 8 of the same regulation, Great Britain made a draft of an evaluation report and submitted it to the European Commission. It was then transferred to the EFSA. After an investigation of the report by the EFSA, the decision was made. The maximum amount of flutriafol allowed in imported gourd vegetables will be adjusted from 0.05 mg/kg to 0.15 mg/kg.
